Moscow Road and Queensway Mixed-use Regeneration, London

Project Description
Won through invited competition, the initial project outline formed the basis of a feasibility study and planning application, proposing a high-quality residential-led mixed-use development. Potential uses would be A1/A2 (retail/financial services) and A3 (food) at ground and basement with appropriate storage etc, B1 commercial offices at first floor, C3 (residential) above. Strategically the redevelopment could have a very positive impact on the neighbourhood providing a catalyst for the regeneration of the stretch of Queensway from the tube station to Whiteleys. This would be achieved by providing modern, sustainable, high quality architecture, offering an enhanced mix of retail, commercial and residential accommodation which could also support and enable the conservation of the historic fabric in the conservation area including important facades along Queensway. We consider that the site is suitable for the creation of public space, which could become one of the focal points for regeneration in the area.

Role and responsibilities
Richard was Associate Director in charge of the project, working alongside one other designer through all aspects of analysis, design, liaison and presentation.
