Project Description
A development for ecological sustainability, leisure and recreation, this is the second in a series of major ecologically sustainable production facilities for a wide cross section of industries, at 1500ha and £9.1bn estimated. Key support facilities within a ‘Wadi buffer zone’ to include: Mosque, Cafés, Shops, Internet/Phone Cafés, Administration, Medical Centre, Security Authorities, Emergency Services, Sport and Leisure, Support staff accommodation, Natural buffer zones and open spaces throughout.

Role and Responsibility
As Senior Associate – Design, Richard was one of three lead designers who together produced four initial masterplan concept designs (where he produced two of the four), one of which was chosen to develop to Detail Design. Richard co-managed the design phases of the masterplan, which was developed closely with his local counterpart, who oversaw the project management.
