ROLE Senior Architect for Technical Design + Tender

Working with local architects Crowther Associates who were appointed by Avtrade Ltd, a Sussex-based aviation service contract company, for a new international headquarters development at a redundant egg production farm in West Sussex.

This development is formed of two separate office buildings totalling 52,000sq ft and a warehouse building of 90,000sq ft. These buildings have been designed to provide renewable energy in excess of 15% of the sites’ total consumption and will incorporate ground source heat pumps, CHP and natural ventilation strategies to achieve this high level of sustainability. Due to the rural location of this site the design looks to enhance the surrounding landscape with new tree planting, wild flower meadows and attenuation ponds on the site, and the cladding has been designed in darker muted tones to recess when viewed from a distance.

The project has started on site and the Phase 1 warehouse element is due for completion in early 2014, with Phase 2 Office building with start on site in October 2013, and Phases 3 and 4 to commence afterwards.
